Olea has a single plantation of 400ha that is centrally managed and administered. This includes automated irrigation and fertigation. Olea's unit cost will continue to fall as planned production increases.
Overhead Harvesting
Olea has planted and pruned its trees in a manner that allows the use of overhead straddle harvesting. This drastically reduces the cost of fruit.
Management Income
58% of the trees at Dandaragan grove are managed by Olea on behalf of Investor Growers. Revenue from this activity covers the entire cost of Olea owned fruit to the point of processing.
Modern Practice
Australia is a world leader in best agricultural practice techniques resulting in significant technological improvements designed to increase yields and reduce costs.
Land
Olea is able to acquire large tracts of suitable land at prices well below those of Europe.
Water
Olea has a licence to extract, without cost, 4 billion litres of high quality water annually for use in fully irrigating the Olea Groves.
